Imagine if plants sought human attention as eagerly as they do bees and insects. Marc Quinn's vibrant, almost surreal flower arrangements explore this idea, captivating viewers with their intense colors and overstimulation. Flowers are a recurring theme in Quinn's work, as seen in his 2013 Chelsea Flower Show installation, 'The Rush of Nature'. Quinn often intervenes in nature, freezing plants in silicone and combining different species, blending art and science. For this series, Quinn froze flower arrangements in silicone, then painted them realistically and printed the images. By intensifying and reversing colors, he creates an artificial feel, symbolizing humanity's impact on nature. Despite the freezing process, the flowers remain preserved, appearing fresh and alive.
